Dame Judi Dench made Patron of children's charity

Award-winning British actress Dame Judi Dench has upped her involvement with charity Children of Peace by becoming a Patron. It is a leading organisation focused on protecting children in Israel and Palestine, which aims to build friendships and trust through arts, education, health and sports projects. Other Patrons include Madonna and the Royal Patron HH The Begum Aga Khan; friends include Dame Helen Mirren, Matt Lucas and Mark Ronson; and Goodwill Ambassadors include Tobias Ellwood MP (Conservative), Louise Ellman MP (Labour) and Edward Davey MP (Liberal Democrat). Judi is currently playing Mrs Fairfax in the film version of Jane Eyre, in-production and due to be released in 2011.
